Lucky Hens Rescue

Lucky Hens Rescue in Wigan got an appeal...

"We URGENTLY need homes for hundreds of Ex Battery Hens, if you have any space to give them a loving home, please let us know. Due to the change over from Barren Cages to Enriched Cages, many Ex Batts are facing slaughter, These hens need your help to live. We always have hens available - but our next rescue is on Saturday 10th December. Can you offer a loving home???"

We have offer them some help by providing transport. We going drive up and bring back hens that people in Derby or Stoke on Trent have order from them.
If you in Nottingham or Birmingham or Leciester or anyway that is able to meet me to pick up your hens... you're welcome!

Meeting point in Stoke on Trent is Harvester near Stoke Football Ground. ST4 4TL

Meeting point in Derby to be arranged - Mackworth and Asda in Spondon.

If you are able to adopt any of the hens... please contact them directly... its £3 per hens from them AND £1 for fuel for our car.
It is still cheap because most of the pure bred hens you can buy are often over £8 each...

Animals Moving!

All the guinea pigs are now in their new home.. in nice cosy cages inside the Bunny Inn.
They are happy and squeaking away when they know food are coming!

We have adopted Alex and Daisy in the summer holiday, They are not yet together because we are saving up to get Alex neutered first. (Daisy later when we have some money)
They are living in the Bunny Inn too.

All ready for the coldest winter nights.

We no longer have hutches. We find cages are easier to clean and much more hygeine! less chance of getting lices and mites in the plastic cages.

In the Bunny Inn we have 3 guests.. Ash, Rose and Poppy. Three young chicks - it is too cold for them to go outside with the chickens. They going to stay in the Bunny Inn until they are big enough.

Knitted Blankets

I am knitting and crocheting some blankets for the cats at Cats Protection Adoption Centre at Dalbury Lees, Derbyshire.
It is something I enjoy doing in the evenings during the winter while I watch television.

If you have any spare DK (Double Knit) wools I could have, please do send them to me! You can leave them in the porch if no one answer the door.

If you want buy the blanket from me for your cat, let me know what colour and I can give the donation to cats protection as payment for the blanket.

Tortoise and the Pumpkin

Bailey's dinner

All five tortoises had grated pumpkin added in their dinner along with lamb lettuce and rockets.
Pumpkin and buttersquash is very good - natural worming remedy for the tortoises.
